I think this general strategy makes a lot of sense too. Personally, I still like the diversification of splitting my assets between stocks, real estate, and cash. As the stocks started falling this year and recession indicators became clearer, it was a good time to sweep some profits out of the market, sweep out the dogs, and increase the cash ratio. I have stayed in on most of the real estate side, but I have a cash cushion now to ride this out for a few years if necessary.
Let's hope it doesn't take that long.
